Buyer / Sourcing Specialist

About the role

The Buyer/Sourcing Specialist will manage new product requests, ad‑hoc sourcing needs, and cost‑saving projects across a wide range of commodities. Working closely with both new and existing suppliers, the role aims to improve functionality, reduce costs, and shorten lead times for customers operating in highly controlled environments.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically source products and suppliers to support open enquiries.
• Support sales staff with technical queries and identify solutions for customers.
• Ensure timely turnaround on all customer enquiries to deliver excellent service.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities to reduce sourcing costs and add value.
• Conduct regular market and spend analysis to drive savings and supplier improvements.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships for high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to maximise business opportunities.
• Manage tender enquiries and contract negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Background in supply chain or sourcing.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, negotiation and selection.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and comfort working on‑site in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to absorb technical product information.
