Clinical Lecturer/Tutor in Medicine (Mullingar)

About the role

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland is seeking a Clinical Lecturer/Tutor in Medicine to join the teaching team at Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar. The role involves delivering undergraduate medical education, contributing to assessments, and supporting a growing clinical‑translational research programme.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and evaluate teaching sessions for junior, intermediate and senior medical students across four‑ and five‑year programmes.
• Design and participate in student assessments, including examinations and practical evaluations.
• Collaborate with heads of department and project leaders to plan and improve the curriculum.
• Provide resources and communication through the RCSI virtual learning environment.
• Conduct research projects as defined with the department head.
• Perform clinical duties in RCSI teaching hospitals as required.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with registration evidence (e.g., GMC, Irish Medical Council).
• Experience in clinical teaching and assessment of medical students.
• Commitment to research and continuous professional development.
