About the role
The Design Coordinator will work within BAM's Design & Build team to drive the delivery of façade and construction design solutions for projects in Letterkenny, Donegal. You will act as the central point of contact between the client, design team and subcontractors, ensuring design outputs meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Engage with the Design & Build Design Team and other stakeholders to coordinate design activities.
- Prepare and issue MTS (RDD) documents to the Department of Education and Technical Assessors/Multi‑Disciplinary Technical Team.
- Verify that all MTS/TS comply with GWR, SSWR and contract documents.
- Oversee issuance of Design Submissions and Designer Checklists via Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) CDE.
- Manage site Benchmark Mock‑ups and First‑of‑a‑Kind (FoK) events, record attendance, photos and upload reports to the CDE.
- Ensure subcontractor and supplier documentation (DOPs, CE markings) is current.
- Prepare the design portion of bi‑weekly contractor progress reports, including DS, MTS and RFIs.
- Coordinate design development from concept through construction stages and chair design team meetings.
- Lead façade system design (curtain wall, cladding, glazing, brickwork) from concept to construction detail.
- Control information flow through Autodesk platforms and resolve clashes with M&E, structural and architectural designers.
- Track design submittals, RFIs and approvals to keep the project programme on schedule.
- Organise mock‑ups, sample panels and material selections with architects and client teams.
Required profile
- Strong people‑management and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated environment.
Required skills
- Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) CDE
- Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and façade standards
