Financial Controller – Competitive Salary + Benefits

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Financial Controller to lead day‑to‑day finance, reporting, budgeting and cost control for a growing organisation operating in the construction and manufacturing sectors. You will work closely with senior management, providing accurate figures, clear analysis and strategic financial planning to support informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting processes across the group, ensuring smooth and accurate financial systems.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow and budgets.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and job‑costing activities to support commercial decisions.
• Review project and operational costs, highlighting risks, variances and improvement opportunities.
• Oversee debtor/creditor activity, banking, payroll processing and journal entries.
• Support design and management of sales commission structures.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Act as primary contact for annual audits, ensuring compliance and proper record‑keeping.
• Manage tax and compliance requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and other filings.
• Respond to financial queries from management, staff, customers, suppliers and revenue authorities.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant with at least three years of experience in financial control, management accounting or a similar role.
• Experience in a construction, manufacturing or project‑based environment is highly beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of ROI and NI tax and legal requirements.
• Proven ability to manage audits, prepare reports and work with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and strong communication skills.
