Food & Beverage Supervisor – Hotel

About the role

The Food & Beverage Supervisor supports the Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager in delivering smooth, profitable service across the restaurant, bar and banqueting areas of a busy 4‑star hotel. This full‑time, salaried position works 39 hours per week on a rotating schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day food and beverage operations in collaboration with the supervisory team.
• Handle customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Monitor and maintain adequate beverage and wine stock levels.
• Ensure accurate order taking and efficient service.
• Train staff on menus, beverages and service standards, identifying further training needs.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all service areas.
• Prepare restaurant, bar and banquet set‑ups to create the right atmosphere before service.
• Assist with staff rostering and monitor daily business levels.
• Supervise on‑duty staff to ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Manage cash handling, including safe checks and float accuracy.
• Promote a positive working environment to maximise productivity and staff motivation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in food and beverage service within a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Ability to train and develop team members.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality guest experiences.
