General Manufacturing Operator – Packing Production

About the role

Join Abbott’s Cavan nutrition site as a General Manufacturing Operator supporting the packing area. You will help ensure infant formula products are produced safely, to the highest quality standards, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packing line equipment including de‑palletiser, seamer, clincher, gas box, capper and Tavil systems.
• Perform routine quality checks such as oxygen, sediment, leaker and carton inspections.
• Carry out line clearance activities before production start‑up and ensure correct coding on cans and cartons using inkjet/laser systems.
• Record downtime and performance data accurately in the OEE system.
• Maintain documentation control through M‑Files and verify bill of materials.
• Execute cleaning and housekeeping tasks according to SOPs.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to all EHS, cGMP and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) qualification.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.

Required skills

• Operation of packing line equipment (de‑palletiser, seamer, clincher, gas box, capper, Tavil).
• Use of inkjet and laser coding systems.
• Recording and analysing data in OEE system.
• Document control using M‑Files.
• Understanding and application of cGMP, EHS and hygiene standards.
