Group Financial Controller – Dublin

About the role

Robert Walters is partnering with a fast‑growing Irish SME to appoint a Group Financial Controller based in Ballycoolin, Dublin. The role will lead a small finance team and offers a clear path to Finance Director within two years.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations for the group.
• Lead and mentor a finance team of two staff members.
• Prepare and deliver management accounts for 14 legal entities (9 trading).
• Develop P&L forecasts, cash‑flow projections and year‑end statutory account packs.
• Manage payroll processes and ensure compliance with VAT, CSO and other tax regulations.
• Maintain balance sheets, internal controls and accounting policies.
• Arrange liability insurances and liaise with external accountants, banks and regulators.
• Participate in senior management meetings, providing financial insights for decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement of month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a financial leadership role at Finance Manager or Financial Controller level.
• Strong technical accounting expertise covering reporting, forecasting and compliance.
• Excellent organisational ability to manage multiple entities simultaneously.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a focus on process improvement.
• Exceptional communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
