Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

The Lister Hospital is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to join its Hotel Services team. You will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff across patient rooms, clinical areas and shared spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and tidy patient rooms, public areas and staff spaces to the highest hygiene standards.
• Ensure all areas are safe, presentable and ready for use throughout each shift.
• Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to support smooth hospital operations.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor or designee.
• Attend mandatory training sessions annually.

Required profile

• Awareness of hygiene and infection‑control standards.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer care in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Comfortable working under pressure with a flexible approach.

Required skills

• Effective verbal communication with diverse audiences.

What we offer

• £14.80 per hour.

• Permanent full‑time contract (37.5 hours/week) with shifts between 06:30 am and 10:00 pm, five days a week including weekends.
