About the role
The Maintenance Operative will support production continuity by performing scheduled and emergency maintenance on plant equipment. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure safe, reliable operation of machinery and facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, including drives, motors, belts and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose faults, replace or repair parts, and test equipment to verify proper operation.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders and blueprints to guide maintenance actions.
- Use hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices for repairs.
- Assist engineering on special projects, tooling design, mold set‑up and steel fabrication.
- Operate forklifts and work at heights up to 50 feet while complying with OSHA safety standards.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED; trade school training required.
- 1+ year experience with electromechanical or hydraulic systems in a continuous‑operation manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow written/oral instructions.
- Licensed forklift operator and ability to work at heights.
