Managing Operator / General Manager for Family Visitor Attraction

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to lead the relaunch of an established family‑focused visitor attraction in the south of Ireland. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day operations, staff leadership, safety, and the commercial growth of the site.

Key responsibilities

• Reopen and manage the attraction, overseeing animal‑care areas, indoor/outdoor activities, café and retail spaces.
• Drive admissions, school tours, parties, seasonal events and other revenue streams.
• Lead and develop staff, set standards, ensure health and safety compliance, and create a welcoming visitor experience.
• Maintain strong animal welfare practices and oversee related facilities.
• Develop and implement business‑development strategies to grow profitability.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a visitor attraction, activity centre, rural tourism business, family entertainment venue or similar hospitality operation.
• Strong commitment to animal welfare and practical knowledge of animal‑care environments.
• Commercial drive with a track record of increasing admissions, events and retail revenue.
• Confident leader with the ability to set standards, manage safety and inspire staff.
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial attitude and the imagination to relaunch and grow a business.
