Mechanical Advisor – Truckshop

About the role

As a Technical Advisor – Mechanical supporting the Truckshop team, you will provide advanced technical expertise, guidance, and leadership in the maintenance and repair of CAT 785D, 777F and 773D haul trucks within Newmont’s mobile fleet maintenance department. Your work ensures safe, reliable and efficient truck performance, directly contributing to production targets and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert‑level diagnostic support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and power‑train systems on CAT 785D, 777F and 773D haul trucks.
• Guide and oversee complex repairs, component change‑outs, troubleshooting and rebuild activities.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to OEM specifications and site standards with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Mentor national technicians, improve maintenance standards and drive continuous improvement across the Truckshop.
• Act as frontline advisor, supporting technicians in high‑demand mining environments.
• Document work, report findings and recommend corrective actions to maintain fleet reliability.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in heavy‑equipment mechanical maintenance, particularly CAT haul trucks.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and provide technical guidance in a mining setting.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and adherence to OEM standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, onsite environment.
