About the role

The Relief Instructor provides flexible, part‑time support within the Intellectual Disability sector, delivering community integration and day‑service programmes for adults in County Kerry. This position offers varied hours to meet service demand while ensuring high‑quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate community‑based activities that promote independence and social inclusion.
• Support individuals during day‑service sessions, encouraging skill development and personal growth.
• Adapt programmes to individual needs and respond to changing schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents.

Required profile

• Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or in community‑based care.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to person‑centred approaches and safeguarding standards.

Required skills
