Remote Backend Developer – Node.js & Java

About the role

We are looking for a Remote Backend Developer to join a fast‑growing eCommerce organisation that is expanding across Ireland, the UK and the US. You will work on business‑critical applications, influencing technical strategy and enjoying full autonomy in a dynamic, solution‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take hands‑on ownership of multiple backend systems, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
• Influence and help shape the technical roadmap and future direction of the platform.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality features quickly.
• Act as a proactive, solution‑oriented engineer tackling complex challenges.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial experience building backend applications.
• Strong cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience working in AI‑first or AI‑assisted development environments.
• Solid production experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
