Software Engineer II – Labor Cost & Timekeeping Platform

About the role

Toast is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build and scale its labor cost and timekeeping platforms, which serve over 166,000 restaurant locations. You will work on high‑visibility, mission‑critical infrastructure that processes tens of millions of shift events each week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy backend services for next‑generation timekeeping systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance using logging and metrics.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to shape features and architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of reliable, scalable services that impact millions of users.

Required profile

• Solid fundamentals in software engineering and object‑oriented programming.
