About the role
Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join its SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) team. You will help build and qualify features that power some of the world’s largest data‑center networks, working closely with engineers, marketing, and customers.
Key responsibilities
- Write functional and design specifications for system software that manages hardware components.
- Develop, test, and maintain code in C, C++ and Python.
- Create test plans and automated test programs for new features.
- Collaborate with the SONiC community to upstream code and test changes.
- Triage and resolve customer network issues.
- Own projects from definition through deployment, ensuring high quality and reliability.
Required profile
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Good understanding of networking concepts such as L2, L3 and commercial switching hardware.
Required skills
- C programming language.
- C++ programming language.
- Python programming language.
- Fundamental networking knowledge (L2/L3).
