Supplier Engineer – Medical Device Manufacturing

About the role

This position offers a unique opportunity to join a world‑leading medical device company in Cork as a Supplier Engineer. Working in a hybrid model, you will provide technical leadership across the supply chain, ensuring continuity, cost reduction, and successful integration of new materials and products.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a technical team member alongside Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Business Units to manage all aspects of supplier relationships.
• Lead investigations of material quality issues, collaborating with Quality, Procurement, and Business Units to resolve and disposition products.
• Promote and enforce the Quality System throughout the supply base.
• Develop new supply sources, assess and approve supplier‑requested process changes, and drive material value improvement projects.
• Plan and execute detailed project transfers and product/process implementations, ensuring GMP‑compliant documentation.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve obstacles that impede project progress.

Required profile

• Level 8 qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in engineering, materials, quality, or project management within a regulated environment.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
