Systems Engineer – Full Remote

About the role

EXADSEXADS is a fast‑growing ad‑tech startup looking for a Systems Engineer who can work fully remotely from anywhere in Ireland. You will partner closely with application developers to ensure high performance, availability, and scalability of the company’s proprietary ad‑serving platform.

Key responsibilities

• Install, support and maintain server hardware and software infrastructure.
• Manage database systems (MariaDB, ClickHouse) and web servers (Nginx).
• Monitor server and network usage and optimise resource consumption.
• Plan and implement future deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call support for critical incidents.
• Contribute to process improvements and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Extensive Linux experience (preferably RedHat) with a strong appreciation for open‑source software.
• Advanced knowledge of web servers, especially Nginx and PHP.
• Hands‑on experience administering MariaDB and ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with configuration‑management tools such as Puppet.
• Experience with caching solutions (Redis, Memcached, CouchBase).
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
