Transport & Distribution Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a leading Irish retail and distribution business to find a proactive Transport & Distribution Manager. You will own a busy delivery operation, lead a team of drivers and ensure products reach customers safely, on time and cost‑effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full RSA compliance, including driver hours, tachograph records, licensing, CVRTs and fleet maintenance.
• Keep transport records audit‑ready and lead health & safety initiatives, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Oversee daily transport operations, route planning, delivery performance and drive efficiencies in fuel use, fleet costs and servicing.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement projects across the distribution function.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of drivers, manage performance and coordinate with warehouse, customer service and senior management.
• Act as escalation point for complex delivery and customer‑service issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in transport, distribution or logistics management.
• Valid Transport Manager CPC and full C driving licence.
• Strong knowledge of RSA regulations, driver hours and tachograph compliance.
• Proven ability to manage drivers, fleet operations and transport performance in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transport Management Systems and routing software.
• Experience in tachograph management and fleet compliance reporting.
