Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a fast‑growing eCommerce organisation that is expanding across Ireland, the UK and the US. The role is hybrid, with three days a week on‑site and the rest remote, offering you autonomy to shape critical backend systems.

Key responsibilities

• Take hands‑on ownership of multiple backend services, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
• Influence technical strategy and help define the future direction of the platform.
• Act as a proactive, solution‑oriented engineer solving complex challenges.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality features quickly.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial experience building backend applications with Node.js.
• Strong cloud engineering experience on AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience working in AI‑first or AI‑assisted development environments.
• Solid hands‑on experience with Java and the Spring Framework in production systems.
