Data Analyst & Power BI Developer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Power BI Developer to join a 6‑month contract. You will help enhance and deliver enterprise reporting and analytics solutions on a modern cloud‑based data platform.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and interpret business requirements, turning them into clear reporting specifications.
• Analyse, validate and reconcile datasets in a cloud‑based data warehouse using SQL.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Enhance data models, semantic layers and reporting calculations to improve self‑service analytics.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing, identifying and resolving defects.
• Investigate and resolve day‑to‑day data and reporting issues in collaboration with technical and business teams.
• Support data governance and data quality initiatives through controls, reconciliations and validation.
• Produce and maintain documentation such as report specifications and testing evidence.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to work on complex datasets.
• Hands‑on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and data modelling concepts.
• Proven ability to support UAT and system testing activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
