Senior Logistics Operator

About the role

The Senior Logistics Operator will lead on‑site logistics at Simberi’s open‑cut gold mine, ensuring safe and efficient movement of plant, equipment, containers and freight across the mine site, processing plant, camp and contractor areas.

Key responsibilities

• Direct safe movement of Container Reach Stackers within the logistics yard and operational zones.
• Inspect loads for size, weight, shape and centre of gravity and select appropriate lifting methods.
• Conduct inspections, maintenance and reporting of rigging equipment (chains, slings, ropes, cables, hooks, lifting gear).
• Operate articulated trucks, side lifters, forklifts and other material‑handling equipment to transport loads.
• Maintain daily equipment inspections, machine logbooks and accurate freight, container, dispatch and logistics registers.
• Prepare and follow Job Hazard Safety Analyses (JHSAs) and ensure proper handling of Dangerous Goods.
• Coordinate daily reagent deliveries to the processing plant and oversee container and freight movements.
• Supervise truck and trailer drivers, logistics personnel and contribute to a high‑performing logistics team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics or material handling within a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of safe loading, unloading and rigging practices.
• Ability to lead and supervise logistics staff and drivers.
• Commitment to safety, efficiency and environmental compliance.
