Systems Engineer – Foundational Security Services

About the role

Amazon Security is looking for a motivated Systems Engineer to help raise the security bar across Amazon’s cloud and retail services. You will join an EU‑based Operations team that delivers secure‑by‑default foundational security services and supports a 24/7/365 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and support Amazon Foundational Security Services in a 24/7/365 on‑call rotation (once every 4–6 weeks).
• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate security controls into services such as EC2, S3, and other Amazon products.
• Design, implement, and maintain access‑control patterns, identity security services, authentication, authorization, and lifecycle management solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex security challenges, ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Required profile

• EU citizenship and willingness to relocate within the European Union.
• Strong passion for security innovation and problem‑solving.

• Ability to work effectively in a high‑tempo, on‑call operational environment.

Required skills

• Experience with AWS services, specifically EC2 and S3.
• Knowledge of access control, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and lifecycle management.
