Communications Coordinator (Dual Language – Irish & English)

About the role

The National Gallery of Ireland is seeking a Communications Coordinator who is fluent in Irish and English. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the role will support the Communications, Marketing & Digital Engagement team in delivering bilingual communication campaigns for the Gallery’s programmes and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate the Gallery’s communications plan, ensuring Irish‑language content is integrated across marketing and digital channels.
• Provide Irish translations, source external translators, and review/edit Irish language material before publication.
• Research, design and implement a strategy for the Gallery’s Irish‑language website.
• Create engaging dual‑language copy for press releases, media pitches, website pages, social media, corporate reports, intranet updates and advertising.
• Ensure compliance with Section 10(A) of the Official Languages Act 2021 for all content and advertising.
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish consistent translation and editing processes and report on Irish‑language communications activities.

Required profile

• Fluent in Irish and English, with strong written communication skills in both languages.
• Experience in coordinating communications, marketing or public‑relations campaigns.
• Familiarity with the Official Languages Act 2021 and its content requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
