Policy Counsel – AI Governance (EMEA)

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Policy Counsel to join its legal team and help shape AI governance across the EMEA region. You will work closely with public policy, external affairs, and technical teams to address emerging regulatory challenges and promote responsible AI development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation of AI governance frameworks that align with evolving regulations, industry best practices, and global standards.
• Monitor and analyse new legislative and regulatory developments related to AI.
• Provide legal analysis and advice to the External Affairs team and other public‑policy stakeholders.
• Partner with public‑policy and technical teams to develop practical policy guidance informed by product knowledge.
• Assist in drafting policy positions, proposals, and advocacy materials.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant Dublin jurisdiction.
• Experience in policy, regulatory, or government‑affairs work (government, tech company, law firm, or policy organization).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex legal and technical concepts for non‑legal audiences.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities to navigate ambiguous policy questions.
