About the role
The Department of Cardiology at St James Hospital is seeking a Registrar to join a high‑volume, supra‑regional Primary PCI centre. The role focuses on electrophysiology, including invasive EP procedures, EP clinics, diagnostics and cardiac device monitoring, under consultant supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Perform invasive electrophysiology investigations and manage EP clinics.
- Assess, diagnose, plan and implement treatment for cardiology patients.
- Document all clinical activities in line with departmental and professional standards.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to patients and multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Contribute to the development of departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality, ethical standards and comply with relevant legislation.
Required profile
- General Registration or Trainee Specialist Division Registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Completion of Basic Specialty Training in Internal Medicine.
- Holder of MRCPI or an equivalent qualification.
- Eligibility to provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Required skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
