Accountant (Part Qualified)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing commercial‑stage medical device company in Galway to bring on a part‑qualified accountant. Reporting to a Senior Accountant, you will support day‑to‑day finance operations while developing your technical accounting expertise in a dynamic, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts Payable and supplier management (approximately 50% of time)
• Payment runs and bank reconciliations
• Journal postings, including accruals, pre‑payments and depreciation
• Balance‑sheet reconciliations
• Month‑end and year‑end close support
• VAT and regulatory reporting where required
• Expense management and internal controls
• ERP system usage and process‑improvement initiatives
• Support for Accounts Receivable as the business scales
• Assistance with audit preparation

Required profile

• Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in accounts payable or broader finance/assistant accountant roles
• Strong accounting fundamentals and comfort with month‑end processes
• Confidence working with ERP systems (NetSuite, Odoo, QuickBooks or similar)
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
• Proactive communicator
• Experience in start‑up, SME or medical‑device environments is a plus but not essential
