Conservation Architect – Historical BIM (Revit)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Conservation Architect to lead and deliver high‑quality restoration projects on Ireland’s most significant protected monuments. The role combines heritage expertise with advanced BIM modelling using Revit to safeguard historic fabric for future generations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage conservation and restoration projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with best practice and statutory obligations.
• Prepare, coordinate and review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documentation.
• Conduct detailed condition surveys, building pathology investigations and heritage impact assessments.
• Develop Conservation Management Plans and Conservation Plans in line with ICOMOS standards and national policy.
• Manage contractors and specialist sub‑contractors on site, monitoring quality, programme and cost.
• Produce and coordinate BIM models using Autodesk Revit, creating Heritage BIM (HBIM) workflows for historic fabric.
• Integrate point‑cloud and photogrammetric survey data to generate accurate as‑built models.
• Ensure BIM deliverables meet Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) and ISO 19650 standards.
• Liaise with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the National Monuments Service and other authorities for consents and compliance.
• Act as primary contact for the public‑sector client, providing regular updates and technical advice.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural conservation and heritage restoration.
• Strong knowledge of Irish and European heritage legislation, ICOMOS guidelines and public‑sector procurement processes.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
