Expert in Energy Efficiency

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a senior Energy Efficiency Expert to join the core team of an EU‑funded project aimed at strengthening strategic, institutional and operational capacity for effective energy policy in North Macedonia. The assignment supports sustainable economic development and runs for 42 months starting 1 December 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and advise on legislative and institutional frameworks for energy efficiency.
• Design national and municipal energy efficiency plans and renovation strategies for public buildings.
• Implement monitoring and verification systems and energy‑efficiency obligation schemes.
• Conduct energy audits, establish management systems and advise on financial mechanisms and incentives.
• Support the creation of energy performance certificates and oversee district‑heating modernization projects.
• Provide expertise on energy demand‑side management and related policy instruments.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a directly related discipline (or Bachelor plus four years relevant experience).
• Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in energy‑related fields.
• Proven experience in at least three assignments covering energy‑efficiency legislation, planning, renovation, monitoring, or financing.
• Excellent spoken and written English (C1 level).
• Experience with EU Member State bodies or Energy Community Treaty parties is an advantage.
