Part Qualified Accountant

About the role

You will join a fast‑growing finance team supporting day‑to‑day operations as the company expands internationally. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will gain exposure to both Irish and US accounting requirements while helping to build the financial infrastructure for future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding and timely processing.
• Prepare and execute vendor payment runs and perform bank reconciliations.
• Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
• Process employee expense reimbursements in line with company policy.
• Analyse purchase order logs for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, tax regulations and accounting policies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities and support the annual audit.
• Post journal entries such as pre‑payments, accruals and depreciation.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports (VAT, CSO) and ad‑hoc filings.
• Support balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
• Contribute to US business growth and future ERP roll‑out initiatives.
• Utilise finance and IT systems to improve reporting, workflow efficiency and process improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably a start‑up or medical‑devices setting.
• Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA) with a clear commitment to complete it.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and core accounting fundamentals.
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to change and support a growing finance function.
