Senior Engineer – Commercial Project

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead engineering and setting‑out activities on a large‑scale commercial development in Athlone. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with design specifications, and drive the project towards its key milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all engineering and setting‑out activities on the commercial site.
• Ensure works are completed in line with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Manage and mentor site engineers and junior team members.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Monitor programme progress and support achievement of key milestones.
• Oversee quality control procedures and enforce company standards.
• Implement and maintain health and safety regulations on site.
• Review and manage technical documentation, drawings, and RFIs.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure work meets the highest standards.
• Assist with project planning, logistics, and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Engineer or Site Engineer role on commercial, industrial, or large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong setting‑out and surveying experience.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies and technical standards.
• Proven ability to manage site teams and coordinate multiple work fronts.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
