About the role
The Advanced Specialist Pharmacist will lead medicines optimisation and ensure the safe, effective and cost‑effective use of antimicrobial medicines within St Vincent’s University Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) pharmacy services.
- Provide expert advice to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals on antimicrobial use.
- Demonstrate professional leadership through effective communication, staff motivation and removal of barriers to change.
- Apply advanced practice across six domains: Expert Professional Knowledge, Working with Others, Leadership, Management, Education/Training and Development, Research and Evaluation.
Required profile
- Qualified pharmacist with advanced specialist status in Antimicrobial Stewardship.
- Experience delivering medicines optimisation in a hospital setting.
- Ability to act as a professional resource and mentor for colleagues.
