Urgent Care Physician – Part‑Time (Cork)

About the role

Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC is seeking a part‑time Urgent Care Physician to join its Cork clinic. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred urgent care services across a broad age range.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients presenting with urgent care needs, including minor injuries (sprains, fractures, wounds) and minor illnesses.
• Provide care for patients from 12 months of age onward.
• Perform initial interpretation of X‑rays and ECGs.
• Facilitate referrals to the emergency department or specialists when required.

Required profile

• Registered with the Irish Medical Council.
• Minimum 5 years post‑graduate clinical experience, with significant general practice exposure.
• At least 2 years recent experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Post‑graduate training in emergency medicine, general practice, or a related field is highly beneficial.
• At least 6 months experience with paediatric patients is desirable.
• Willingness to work a flexible 7‑day roster.
