Bar Staff – Food & Beverage Assistant (Hotel)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Food & Beverage Assistants to join the bar team at Tower Hotel Waterford. The role covers lunch and dinner service, as well as supporting weddings, private functions and corporate events.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly in the bar and event spaces.
• Deliver professional bar service to 4‑star standards during lunch and dinner.
• Support weddings, private functions, corporate events and viewing appointments.
• Maintain immaculate bar areas before, during and after service.
• Take orders accurately, manage allergens and dietary requirements.
• Upsell food and beverages to enhance the guest experience.
• Ensure glassware and tableware are polished and ready.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, health & safety and food safety.
• Prepare stock and mise en place for the next shift.
• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally.

Required profile

• Availability to work mid‑week, weekends and late finishes.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar bar or food‑and‑beverage role (desirable).
• Experience in high‑volume bar service and events (advantageous).
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Positive, team‑oriented attitude with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Product knowledge of menus, cocktails, beverages and wines.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen awareness.
