Business & Religious Education Teacher

About the role

The Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board is seeking a qualified teacher to deliver Business and Religious Education classes at Coláiste Cois Siúire. This fixed‑term position involves 11 teaching hours per week (7 hours Business, 4 hours Religious Education) and contributes to the Board’s commitment to high‑quality learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Business and Religious Education curricula in line with national syllabus requirements.
• Integrate cross‑curricular links such as literacy, numeracy and critical thinking into lessons.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of subject developments and pedagogical approaches.
• Foster a positive learning environment and build constructive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Participate in professional development and school‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher meeting the Teaching Council of Ireland’s general and special requirements for Business and Religious Education.
• Current registration with the Teaching Council of Ireland (certificate required).
• Demonstrated competence in professional knowledge, practice, communication and self‑management (max 300‑word statements per competency).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school community.
