Chef – Food Production Supervisor

About the role

The Chef will lead the food production area, ensuring efficient operations and delivering high‑quality fresh products to customers. This position is based on‑site at a Centra store on Main Street, Rathdrum.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and display fresh food throughout the day while upholding Centra brand values.
• Oversee daily food production operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to standards.
• Conduct stock takes, calculate cost prices, and manage portion control.
• Order supplies for the deli department, control waste, and maintain accurate inventory.
• Rostering staff, managing budgets and monitoring KPIs.
• Participate in regular management meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Induct, train and develop team members in food production.

Required profile

• Minimum 1‑year experience in a supervisory or managerial role (desirable).
• At least 2 years experience in fresh‑food environments.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets and KPIs.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to build loyalty.
• Passion for the food industry, creativity and innovation in product offering.
• Leadership skills to inspire and motivate staff.
