Community and Tenant Engagement & Sustainment Officer

About the role

The Community and Tenant Engagement & Sustainment Officer will lead the delivery of Respond’s Tenant Engagement Strategy, embedding meaningful tenant participation into everyday service delivery. Working across the Dublin region and nationally, the role empowers tenants to influence decisions, shape local priorities, and co‑design initiatives that strengthen community cohesion and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of Respond’s Tenant Engagement framework within the assigned area.
• Translate national strategic objectives into local engagement plans with clear actions and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with Tenant Relations Officers and Housing Managers to ensure consistent delivery across schemes.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on engagement activity, ensuring it is inclusive, outcome‑focused and aligned with organisational goals.
• Provide one‑to‑one support to tenants, focusing on early intervention, tenancy sustainment and wellbeing.
• Identify emerging risks, connect tenants with internal and external services, and contribute to reducing tenancy breakdown and anti‑social behaviour.

Required profile

• Experience in community engagement, housing, or tenant support roles.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with individuals and community groups.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Commitment to inclusive participation and equal opportunity principles.
