Consultant Haematologist

About the role

Bon Secours Hospital Cork, Ireland’s largest private hospital, is seeking an experienced Consultant Haematologist to join its multidisciplinary Haematology/Oncology team. The role involves delivering specialist haematology care within a modern, technologically advanced acute hospital that serves both adult and paediatric patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for haematology patients.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes NCHDs, specialist nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, dietitians and palliative‑care nurses.
• Work alongside oncology, radiation oncology and palliative‑care consultants to ensure integrated patient pathways.
• Contribute to the hospital’s teaching activities as a recognised teaching hospital of UCC.

Required profile

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners in Ireland (or eligibility for registration).
• Eligibility for inclusion on the Surgical Division of the Medical Specialist Register.
• Completion of an International Fellowship in a relevant haematology specialty.
• Proven experience as a consultant haematologist, preferably within a private‑practice setting.
