Supervising Pharmacist

About the role

We are looking for a Supervising Pharmacist to lead the daily operations of our dispensary in Ireland. The role combines hands‑on dispensing oversight with professional advice to patients and staff, ensuring compliance with all legislative and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the day‑to‑day operation of the dispensary and professional pharmacy services.
• Manage the complete dispensing process, verifying prescription safety, legality and accuracy.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, conduct date‑checking and ensure timely replenishment.
• Provide expert advice to patients on medicines and complementary products, and guide staff on safe use of OTC and pharmacy‑only items.
• Assess patient symptoms, recommend treatment options and refer when necessary.
• Oversee pharmacy claims submission and ensure they are processed within required timeframes.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, suppliers and health‑care professionals.
• Ensure confidentiality, quality of work and a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with a recognised pharmacy qualification.
• Proven experience supervising pharmacy staff and managing a dispensary.
• Strong knowledge of Irish pharmacy legislation, contractual obligations and standard operating procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
• High level of integrity, honesty and commitment to patient safety.
