About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join the team at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe. This permanent, whole‑time position works 37 hours per week within the Emergency Department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality emergency medical care to patients attending Portiuncula Hospital.
• Participate in the on‑call roster and provide senior clinical leadership in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the HSE West and North West region.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with consultant‑level experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Registered with the relevant medical licensing authority in Ireland.
• Willingness to work within the HSE West and North West health region.
