Grid Engineer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Grid Engineer to join BayWa r.e.’s Irish team, supporting the delivery of grid connections for utility‑scale wind, solar and storage projects. Based in Cork, you will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams and senior grid‑connection specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end delivery of grid connection outcomes for renewable energy assets, reporting to the UK & Ireland Grid Connections Manager.
• Liaise with network operators to optimise connection solutions, maximise project value and mitigate risks.
• Oversee grid code compliance, registration procedures and timely energisation of assigned projects.
• De‑risk and document grid‑connection progress to support project finance requirements.
• Administer grid‑related contracts, ensuring milestones, obligations and performance tests are met.
• Provide technical assistance during development and construction, ensuring designs meet all grid‑code requirements.
• Analyse network restrictions, curtailment and export constraints over the project life‑span.
