Environment, Health & Safety Manager

About the role

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company's health, safety and environmental strategy. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role ensures compliance with national legislation and international standards while fostering a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the SMS and EMS to achieve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (formerly OHSAS 18001) certification.
• Conduct and oversee environmental, process, occupational and chemical risk assessments and manage corrective actions.
• Prepare and review monthly HSE reports, KPIs and ensure accurate incident, near‑miss and non‑conformance reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, and drive continual improvement initiatives.
• Define roles and responsibilities within the HSE management system and deliver training programmes.
• Maintain emergency preparedness plans, organise evacuations and provide related training.
• Manage communication with customers, suppliers and contractors on HSE matters, including RAMS and incident investigations.
• Ensure safe work systems for employees, contractors and visitors, including equipment calibration and maintenance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading HSE functions within an industrial or production environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of the H&S at Work Act 2005, Seveso III/COMAH Regulations 2015 and relevant ISO standards.
• Ability to develop policies, conduct risk assessments and drive corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams, external auditors, customers and suppliers.
