Healthcare Assistant – Home Care Support

About the role

Bluebird Care is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to provide personalised home care across Ireland. Working under the guidance of Clinical Nurse Managers, you will support clients with daily living activities while promoting independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, toileting, meal preparation and mobility assistance.
• Support clients with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and high‑dependency needs.
• Supervise medication, perform light housekeeping and basic shopping.
• Follow each client’s Care Plan and document observations.
• Facilitate social interaction, companionship and activity participation.
• Report any changes, incidents or concerns to the office promptly.

Required profile

• Completion of QQI Care Skills and QQI Care of the Older Person modules.
• Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting.
• Clean Garda Vetting (and International Police Clearance if applicable).
• Medical fitness certificate and valid driver’s licence with own transport.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a nurse‑led team.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using Google Maps to locate client homes.
