Registrar (Non‑Consultant) Hospital Doctor – Psychiatry (Adult ADHD Service)

About the role

This fixed‑term position (July 2026 – January 2027) is for a Non‑Consultant Hospital Doctor (Registrar level) in adult inpatient and community psychiatry, based in the Adult ADHD Service at Cluain Mhuire Adult Mental Health Services. Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adult in‑patients and community patients, including ADHD management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists and allied health professionals.
• Participate actively in the teaching of RCSI medical students and NCHDs.
• Contribute to clinical audits, research activities and service development initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree and current registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland and appropriate English language proficiency.
• Previous experience in psychiatry is preferred; experience in the Irish health‑care system is desirable.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of adult psychiatric disorders.
• Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication.
• Effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students.
