About the role
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function for new product introduction, automation, facilities and production support at Ei Electronics in Shannon. This senior leadership position ensures that new electronic products are industrialised efficiently, automation is strategically deployed, and the manufacturing environment supports high‑volume, high‑reliability output.
Key responsibilities
- Lead NPI from early design through pilot builds to full production, embedding Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
- Develop scalable manufacturing processes, conduct PFMEA, and manage process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and control plan creation.
- Deliver structured hand‑over from NPI to sustaining production, meeting target yield, cost and schedule.
- Define and execute a multi‑year automation roadmap, identifying opportunities in manufacturing, test and material handling automation.
- Provide engineering leadership for facilities expansion, layout optimisation and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Offer senior technical support to resolve complex production issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing manufacturing engineering team, fostering collaboration with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations.
Required profile
- Extensive experience leading manufacturing engineering teams in high‑volume, safety‑critical electronics environments.
- Proven track record delivering successful NPI projects on time and within budget.
- Strong background in automation strategy and implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage facilities and infrastructure projects supporting growth.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on technical escalation handling.
