Mechanical Design Engineer – Retrofit & Decarbonisation

About the role

We are an established engineering consultancy based in Dublin city centre, seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and work on retrofit and decarbonisation projects across commercial, public sector and healthcare developments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs for retrofit projects
• Support HVAC, heat pump, ventilation, and energy‑efficiency upgrades
• Produce calculations, layouts, specifications, and technical reports
• Carry out site surveys and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Support projects from concept through to the construction stage

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• 3–4 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering
• Experience in retrofit, refurbishment, or decarbonisation projects
• Good knowledge of HVAC and sustainable building services systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and relevant design software
• Strong communication and organisational skills
