Mobile Generator Engineer

About the role
You will join Finning Power Rental’s field team, delivering rental power solutions across the UK and Ireland. The role involves setting up, maintaining and supporting generators, load‑banks, transformers, fuel tanks and related equipment for our customers.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, service and maintain rental equipment (generators, load‑banks, transformers, fuel tanks, cables, panels) according to scheduled maintenance plans.
- Complete ready‑to‑rent tasks and record inspections in the CAT inspection application.
- Process rental returns, documenting condition and any actions taken in the CAT system.
- Set up rental equipment to match customer specifications and project drawings.
- Troubleshoot routine technical problems quickly, safely and efficiently.
- Support logistics for inbound and outbound equipment when required.
- Lead site installation, commissioning and de‑commissioning of rental solutions, including synchronisation of multiple generators.
- Resolve complex technical issues and perform in‑depth repairs on rental assets.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, complete incident logs and pre‑task risk assessments.
Required profile
- Strong analytical and communication abilities to explain technical issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently in the field and follow detailed project drawings.
- Full UK driving licence held for at least two years.
- Completion of Finning E&T service and maintenance engineering training up to the advanced level.
