Production Supervisor – Shift Role

About the role

The company is a leading innovator at the intersection of health, material and data science, seeking a Production Supervisor to manage on‑site manufacturing operations in Athlone. This shift‑based role involves leading a team of up to 30 staff, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day management and technical direction to a team of up to 30 personnel.
• Lead, advise and support the business unit team responsible for manufacturing operations.
• Manage employee time and attendance, conduct annual performance appraisals, and oversee core HR processes.
• Maximise efficiencies across all manufacturing areas and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, floor layout, and product quality.
• Participate in process and product troubleshooting to maintain desired yields.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing (5S) and Six Sigma principles to drive process excellence.
• Coordinate equipment repairs with the technical team to minimise downtime.
• Use data, key metrics and SPC to continuously improve processes.
• Ensure the monthly build schedule is met and manage material disposition using Oracle and the MRP system.
• Lead cross‑functional improvement initiatives and ensure strict adherence to CGMP requirements.

Required profile

• Certification in supervisory management or equivalent.
• 5‑7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the medical device sector.
• Proven track record in a medical device or similar industry.
• Experience in production process troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and high‑level PC proficiency.
