Multiskilled Technical Services Technician

About the role

We are seeking a versatile Technical Services Technician to join our hospital team in Cork. The role combines responsibility for clinical equipment upkeep with comprehensive facilities maintenance, ensuring safety and reliability for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and repairs on medical and clinical equipment to meet regulatory standards.
• Execute a planned preventive maintenance (PPM) programme across building plant and utilities.
• Maintain and monitor electrical infrastructure, building management systems (BMS), backup generators, emergency power and fire alarm systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and HVAC plant including air handling units, chillers, boilers and plumbing.
• Respond swiftly to breakdown calls, providing rapid fault resolution to minimise clinical downtime.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call roster to deliver emergency maintenance support.

Required profile

• Recognised Mechanical/Electrical trade qualification or specialised Biomedical/Clinical Engineering qualification.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a healthcare or regulated high‑tech environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work across diverse systems from heavy plant utilities to delicate medical hardware.
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
