Post Primary Music Teacher (Job Share)

About the role

The Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board is recruiting a qualified post‑primary Music Teacher for Meánscoil San Nioclás, Co. Waterford. The position is a pro‑rata, 17‑hour per week contract for the 2026/27 academic year and will be delivered as a job‑share (two teachers sharing the timetable).

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess music lessons for post‑primary students.
• Develop and maintain a stimulating music curriculum aligned with national standards.
• Participate in whole‑school music activities, concerts and extracurricular programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain accurate student records and adhere to the Teaching Council’s Code of Professional Conduct.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher registered with the Teaching Council.
• Experience teaching music at post‑primary level.
• Ability to work effectively in a job‑share arrangement.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student development.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of music theory, performance and pedagogy.
• Proficiency with classroom music technology (audio equipment, music software).
• Lesson planning and assessment expertise.
