Principal Corporate Counsel – Environmental Sustainability (EMEA)

About the role

Cisco is seeking a Principal Corporate Counsel to lead regulatory guidance for environmental sustainability across the EMEA region. The role sits within the Regulatory Affairs team and works closely with cross‑functional partners to ensure compliance with complex environmental laws and to support market access.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret and advise on EMEA environmental regulations such as ROHS, REACH, WEEE, PFAS, EPR, ESPR, CSRD and the EU Batteries Regulation.
• Develop and drive Cisco’s environmental compliance strategy, creating internal policies and procedures.
• Design and deliver training and updates to stakeholders on regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with product, supply‑chain, sustainability, engineering and other teams to embed compliance requirements into product design and development.
• Partner with Government Affairs to influence emerging regulations and engage with industry associations.
• Work with Legal colleagues to respond to regulators and enforcement agencies as needed.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (LLB, JD or equivalent) in an EU jurisdiction or the UK.
• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience in sustainability or related regulatory compliance.
• Deep knowledge of environmental sustainability regulations applicable in EMEA.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse functional teams.
